Overview of the Role
The Fire Driver is responsible for ensuring effective firefighting and rescue operations within the airport environment. This includes responding to emergencies, operating firefighting vehicles, and maintaining readiness of all firefighting equipment.
The role requires the ability to act quickly under pressure, follow safety protocols, and work as part of a coordinated emergency response team.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond immediately to emergency incidents and fire situations
- Operate firefighting vehicles, pumps, and rescue equipment
- Conduct daily checks of fire appliances and equipment
- Perform rescue operations, including assisting trapped individuals
- Provide first aid support before medical teams arrive
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment after incidents
Participate in training programs, drills, and safety exercises
Follow all airport safety procedures and operational standards
Requirements
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- High school (12th Grade) or Diploma equivalent
- Valid UAE Heavy Driving License
- First Aid certification is an advantage
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as a firefighter in an airport (Category 7 or above preferred)
Knowledge of incident command systems and emergency response roles
Physical Requirements
Minimum height of 1.65 meters
Physically fit with good muscular development
Good eyesight and medically fit
Ability to perform manual and physically demanding tasks
Must not have claustrophobia, acrophobia, or hemophobia
Skills and Competencies
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to make quick decisions under pressure
Attention to detail and safety awareness
Knowledge of rescue operations and emergency planning
